SECOND DAY BRINGS CHANGES IN EUROPE, 49ER AND LASER

The second day of competition at the PHÂRO Regatta-Barcelona Olympic Sailing week started with a delay on some of the regatta courses due to a light winds. When leaving the port, the sailors found that the conditions were very different compared to yesterday.

The regatta committees started settomg the courses for a southeast wind at (80º) that later rotated to the right varying in strength continuously, that only at the end of the day surpassed 8 knots, when the committee were able to finally set a stable course.

In the Laser Radial Class, the Italian Larissa Nevierov, was able to overtake the Spanish Alicia Cebrian, who is now two points behind in second. Another Italian, Diego Negri, keeps the lead in the Laser class, like Rafael Trujillo in the Finn class, even though he had a premature start.

The Spaniard, Marc Paris keeps his lead in the Europe class, as well as Natalia Via Dufresne and Laia Tutzó, in the 470 women's class. Gabrio Zandon and Francesco Della Torre have taken Italy to the top of the men's division.

In the 49er class, Spanish champions Alberto Padrón and Javier de la Plaza are on the top 5 points ahead of their nearest rivals.

Fernando Echavarri and Antón Paz have discarded a second place, after six races in the Tornado class, showing their great performance so far.
