A total of 23 boats sailed in the National 12 Gill Series event last weekend at Spinnaker Club near Ringwood.

The New Forest threw a huge variety of weather conditions at the competitors, from beautiful sunshine and a gusty force 3 on the Saturday through to a light shifty hail interspersed Sunday In spite of this, Spinnaker's race officers managed to set excellent, challenging courses using the majority of the lake.

Graham Camm and Tom Stewart gave a post racing boat set-up session on Saturday. This gave sailors an insight into simple preparation, tuning and boat handling techniques used by the top end of the N12 fleet to improve boat speed.

This was followed up by a few beers and a meal at the local pub/campsite.

The event was rounded up with an informal chat from Tom Stewart on the up-coming Nationals at Hayling Island in June.

The final result was Graham Camm, & Zoƫ Ballantyne 1st, Tom Stewart & Andrea Ralph 2nd, Jon Ibotson & Charlotte Stewart 3rd!

A great set of pictures of the event courtesy of Simon Walworth can be found here.
