Loch Earn Sailing Club hosted the fourth and last round of the 2008 Scottish Tasar Traveller Trophy during their Final Fling regatta over the weekend of the 27th & 28th of September. 7 Tasars were greeted with a good force 3-4 westerly with occasional gusts to 5. With the overall Traveller trophy already secured, Colin Tait took on the role of race officer for the weekend.

Geoff Henstridge crewed by Calum Tait in GBR268 won race 1 convincingly with Sean & Mandy Tait sailing GBR2803 taking Kevin Gibb & Calum Reid GBR1243 on the finish line to take second place.

Race 2 saw Sean & Mandy power through into the lead rounding the windward in first place and going on to win comfortably over Geoff & Calum in second with Kevin & Calum finishing 3rd again.

After a postponement the wind finally filled in on Sunday morning with conditions very similar to Saturday, with the addition of sunshine. Geoff & Calum took their second win of the weekend in Race 3 with Kevin & Calum finishing second and Sean & Mandy coming home in third place.

Going into the last race Geoff & Calum were leading Sean & Mandy by two points but with the discards still to come it was still all to play for. Sean & Mandy led round the first mark with Kevin & Geoff in hot pursuit. The top three boats swapped places several times before Sean & Mandy broke free and pulled out a good lead which they held to the finish.

This gave Sean his first Traveller event win, 4 days after his fifteenth birthday. Geoff & Kevin had a fantastic battle to the finish with Geoff just taking second place by a second over Kevin in third. This completed another fantastic year for the Scottish Tasar fleet who are already putting the plans together for Scottish Tasars on Tour 2009.
