Calvert-Jones was still ahead at the end of the run, with Emotional Hooligan (Marcus Blackmore) and Leroy Brown (Warren Wieckmann) close behind.

The newer boats in the fleet, such as Smile, Fruit Machine and One Step Ahead were towards the back of the fleet in testing conditions.

Syntegra blew a kite in the gusty weather.

HYS Hamble Winter Series week 6
A boat that can party and win at the same time? Week 6 of the HYS Hamble Winter Series dawned with lovely winter sunshine bathing the Solent. As is now becoming the norm, the wind was forecast and indeed was from a northerly direction. The CV Condor made its way to East Knoll.

24 hour sail raises £8,250 for Children in Need
100 intrepid young sailors at the Salterns Sailathon One hundred young sailors from Salterns Sailing Club showed great determination last weekend when they sailed non-stop for 24 hours to raise funds for the BBC Children in Need appeal.
