Short & Whittey favourites for Magic 25 titles

by Any Offord on 17 Feb 2001
Magic 25 NSW state title

The Magic 25 association is holding our 2001 NSW state title at Lake Illawarra Yacht
club this weekend the 17th &18th Feb.
It is shaping up to be a great weekend of racing in what is undoubtably Australia's no1
sportsboat class. We have 15 boats entered and with some top teams lining up to try
and win. Andrew Short (current Aussie champ) will be trying hard to win this year after a
dissapointing state title last year. But Warrick Rooklyn and his team on Voodoo are
really hanging out for a first place. Neil Murphy on Wattyl Paints is the current state
champ and he will be trying hard to retain his title. Neville Whittey will be steering boat
027 Missing Link so he will be a man to watch fresh from his win in the Etchell state title
last weekend. But as in all one design racing anyone can win and the big boy's get
toppled when they make mistakes so stay tuned for the results.
