Hi MB. The retail packs have been discontinued. Which is a pain there
are two options. International Perfection 2 Pack. Or I believe Durapox
make a version but not sure if anyone is selling it in the uk.

Adam, does perfection have the same properties as Ultravar???  I have traditional varnishes on masts before an i don't rate them.  Does perfection have decent UV stabilisers? and does it need to be thinned before it is applied to a mast??

Ultravar is good for UV resistance, but with a big tin - the hardener goes hard in the tin unless you've got 500 masts to varnish at once .  ( I've got plenty of 'spare' base, and no hardener    ).
Durepox clear is good too, the hardener seems to be lasting OK so far ( 18 months ), but don't know about the availablity of small tins.  You can get Durepox from Marineware in Southampton.

Or maybe I could sell a small quantity... ( but shipping nasty chems is a bit of a problem )

Holly Smokes, all this proper 2-pot stuff is seriously
expensive, or available in industrial size only volumes.
Funnily enough Andy, we are sailing over to the IOW next
week. Perhaps i could come and purchase a small amount
from you. I only need enough for a Phantom Mast and Boom,
although my mate may want some for his Canoe whilst we are
at it.

If an epoxy hardener is "going off" too easily, one possible remedy is to keep it cold- fridge or freezer would do it. However, you don't really want to be keeping it next to food...

Ultravar is a polyurethane, the hardener reacts with water vapour as soon as you open it. ( and the stoopid containers are hard to seal up properly once opened).
Durepox is err.. more of an epoxy - but also urethane in it ( clue in the name I think ) so that's probably why it's lasting longer.  Moisture ( and light ) can be still a problem with epoxy hardeners.

Durepox is an epoxy with extra UV protection in it, very hard finish so if you plan to knock it back for recoating it needs to be done within 24 hours else its a pain.
Marineware do small kits of the clear (1L) which works out about £35.

Don't bother with two pack stuff mate. I have international goldspar which is one part. It has stuck fine and looks great. I have had it on for over a year now and other than where it gets scratched by the boom jaws and mast pot it looks as new. I do have a half tin of it in my garage which should do nicely if you want it?

I am advised that all cars and vans have a final coat ULTRVAR to help prevent UV. I have a Souter Jolina Class made from Honduras Mahogany so I always go to my nearest Auto Paint Suppliers and buy a pack of KAPCI which contains base coat, hardener and thinners for brush cleaning. One pack costs £20. 2 coats followed by Epifanes Gloss is perfect. Other makes are available.
