Every time Richard Simmonds refers to the Yngling team, he always uses a phrase along the lines of "your former team mates". Now, whilst Ms Robertson seems to be a pretty easy going person, can she take two weeks of this without snapping and strangling him with his mic cable? She was, after all, pretty upset when they beat her to the place. It probably does still rankle that it's not her out there. How much tolerance does she have?

Should we start a book on it? I'll take Thuesday morning.

Thuesday?

Hedging your bets?

I'm suprised at how genuine she sounds when congratulating them... Maybe shes glad to be out of the Yngling... (can't think why.....)

I have been waiting for a comment along the lines of

"The girls in the Yngling are doing well - and they had bloody well better be or I won't let them hear the end of it!"

Something tells me I may be waiting a while

I have to agree.  She is doing a very good job of making the sailing interesting (is not been too good so far lets be honest).  Also the evening highlight package on digital is presented by Shirley and is very good - a natural in fromnt of the camera IMHO

How do you get the evening highlight package?

I tried watching the regular highlights last night and there was more on Tom Daley's family than there was on any sailing at all..

She's been doing CNN's sailing program for ages, she knows what she's about

That would explain the ease in front of the camera then

I wonder if she will be picked up for other sporting events - Sue Barker could do with a break if you ask me........ About 40 years should do it

At least Sue Barker doesn't sit there and read the notes on the seat next to her, it would appear she actually does her homework and requires but the odd glance...

Autocue in the studio

Notes during pieces to camera

Same difference if you ask me - only reading notes is more visible to the viewer

I think the title of this thread should be "Will Shirley to Kill Richard".

Actually, I'm quite impressed with the coverage.
