I've just heard through the grapevine that the personal indemnity scheme run by the RYA for instructors have increased their premium from £8 to £35.

Does anyone know if this is true? and also if there are any alternative cheaper insurers out there?

As most of the instructors who need this insurance are giving their time voluntarily I don't see how it fits in with the RYA encouraging instructors and coaches to give their time freely.

For anyone interested here is a copy of the standard letter from the RYA.
