I use to get synoptic charts from the Yachts and Boating World website as they use to be free but in the last week or two they no longer offer this service but now send you to the marinecall website instead.  Does anybody know of any sites were I might be able to obtain the synoptic charts again.  And since there seems to be a lack of any posts in the weather section as a whole what are people’s favourite websites for finding out what the weather is doing.  The best I have found so far is http://www.theyr.net/ - www.theyr.net .

you can get reasonable synoptics from the met office website.  The XC weather site which is for paragliders is excellent for wind predictions http://www.xcweather.co.uk - www.xcweather.co.uk

Have a look at  http://www.ecmwf.int/ - http://www.ecmwf.int/  - very good for a few days in advance.

Click on the 'Deterministic medium-range forecast charts'
