Oh dear, what a shame and there was I going to try and blag an Icon and sweet talk Wing Wang into tag teaming it.
And I had a pass, have bought a bloody tow bar specially for it. Spring? It better not be too early in 'spring' I'm thinking at the very least there should be bluebells about and the dafs are dead. Poor show all round, thanks for trying Rodders.. |

Not sure what to do now, may be going home to drink the brandy and babycham I had bought to bring down for my friends, if I had any (thought I would get it in first)?

grf you are such a wuss. Despite that I would have helmed for you if only to see you cowering in the bottom of the boat. I could also have taught you how to use the wiggly stick thing.

Well I would have enjoyed that Wing Wang, I could have been Ben Ainslie to your Convict Helmswoman, I'm sure we'd both have learned something from the experience.
And I was looking forward to relieving Thunder Road of his responsibility for looking after so much Brandy and Babycham. What a tragedy, having looked forward to it for so long, I'm bereft. |

We are slowly moving towards a Top Gun moment; 'You can be my wing man' etc, 'when you reach the carrier you'll get your rear or I'll do it', will watch it again tonight while shifting a shed load of brandy and babycham.

And you could have borrowed Icon '03' as I was off to the Blaze Inlands at Bala that weekend anyway ! Why not come over to Burghfield one weekend and have a go now ? I've got the Blaze as my regular alternative and you would be welcome to give it a go .. and maybe join in for a couple of club races. 'Dancing Farmer' and I are planning to do several of the Sailjuice events in 03 and there may be 2 other Icons taking part from what I hear on my travels. Why not come along (with or without the EPS) as an alternative ? Mike L. |

That's a shame.
We were looking forward to seeing if grf had got himself a new wetsuit... ...actually, no I've got that wrong, we weren't looking forward to that at all. |

Well, you'd have been disappointed/pleased beyond belief, because I haven't, I'm still rocking that same divided butt creation I had last year, although intense pressure from Club and wimmenkind has forced me to adopt dingho practise of shorts over the wetsuit (I have yet to resort to a full blown beer mat charisma reversal jobbie). We'd love to, we're definitely on for that one you showed me, but Trev (my sensible crew who has those Bandits in the Merlin constantly reminding him that my sanity is in question) wants to give it a go in standard trim. I told him it would be boring, the bloke who designed it had spinnaker phobia and small water syndrome, but he won't listen so it's just a question of setting a date. Even the wimmen have agreed we need a lighter boat and one that doesn't sink if it stops moving fast. (They were concerned to see us lose a lead and spend the whole race baling out in last weeks drifter.) |
