Hey GRF - like the banter and all, but looking at the names at/near the top of that fleet, I imagine that the only way you could possibly trouble them would be to ram them........as they lap you........for the second time........ :-) I like the solo, I used to sail a europe back in my yoof. The solo just always looked like good sensible kit. good allround performer. good on budget. no bells and whistles, just a decent boat. Seems as if a lot of others agree too - and most won't agree with your diagnosis that the boat is an: ex-person, tree-product constructed,brass-handled, horizontally-piloted, sub-terranian transportational device!

Can't imagine anyone with any sort of reputation at all past or present would
want it to be broadcast as any sort of personal achievement not being anymore of a complete loser in one of those things - seriously - why would you, other than as a wind up. Maybe when I'm seventy something I'll put your challenge to the test, but you'll excuse me right now for putting sailing one of those things right up there with ruining a perfectly good walk by knocking one of those silly dimpled balls into a hole in the ground... |

It is good to see sailing is getting better at some clubs anyway, The names sailing Solos speak for its self, and if you want the best fleet racing in the Midlands it looks like a solo, why I do not know, its just on a role at the moment. Will the Solo fleet take over? time will tell, good for them I say. I am going for the RS300 now as the P M messages have been great and I want to be part of the Fleet after the P M messages, I am now working Sunday to get the money for my nest boat, no wind forcast so off to work, Windguru will change the forcast now I have booked the work. Should be good for the Solo fleet Sunday as lots of boats to sail against wind or no wind. Edited by Wrighty |

There's also someone on the RS300 forum (who also posts here) who's willing to lend his boat for the Nationals (if you haven't got one by then and you're up for it). |
