Not sure if this really counts as spamming however...
Kielder Water SC is having it's annual windard/leeward event in two weeks on the 11th/12th of April. All classes are welcome, any with more than 5 entries will have their own start. It's also northern circuit event for the MPS class. Its followed by the Dam to Dam Challenge on monday the 13th - OOD'd by myself... A 14 mile (roughly) endurance race through beautiful Northumbrian countryside, from one end of the resevoir to the other and back again.... If any Y&Y forumites fancy it, feel free to get in touch and I can help sort cheap accomodation if you don't fancy camping. We also have a bar this year! |

I went last year and it was an awesome event. Bloody
freezing but worth it! I wont be there due to it clashing with an event at Weston. |

I think one will be, but i doubt the other will as he is on Rescue for the event.
More info... The Dam to Dam start is 11 a.m. on te monday and the entry fee is free to those who compete at the weekend event, but for those who just come for the day it is £5 for double handers and £3 for single handers. OTHER INTEREST... There are some pretty good new downhill mountain bike tracks nearby for those who might want to pack their weekend really full. The Stens seemed to enjoy them last year, I'm not sure many others were nuts enough after a fulll days racing. Also, opened last week is a roughly 20 mile bike trail around the full resevoir. Modest sized Swimming pool nearby aswell. ...So plenty for families to do! |
