Not sure if this would work on the sea - would have to be on an incoming tide.
We have a lot of 'doubloons' slices of a thick branch about 15 to 20 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick, which the patrol boat casts into the water upwind. Then the juniors try to pick them up. Two boats converging on a coveted gold sprayed doubloon learn how to manouvre and who is on port quite quickly without even realising it. Only problem is when Piracy enters this game - boarding other boats, etc. |

The shape of a Topper hull is perfect for practicing collisions, thats what I used to enjoy. You can almost sail one hull over another if you get enough speed up.
