Couldn't post this in GENERAL soo.
TASAR dinghy can I sail one single handed or will I be mostly swimming?? I have a fair bit of time in dinghies, and no sylph like figure! Looking at an old TASAR without Mylar sails, I sail on a small duckpond, very variable breeze! Currently using a Zoom ,but my knees don't like it! Will I be constantly overpowered and dumping the main? Any bodies input welcome. |

Most difficult thing will be tacking the boom spanner on your own.
You can centre it and leave it fixed as a compromise though ? Its very stable and not too much sail so may be ok on your own ? Not really suited to ponds though - bit sticky in the light stuff |

The Tasar has a variety of rotating mast which has to be manually pushed from one side to the other while tacking. This is done with a lever that is located just under the boom. The lever gets called the mast spanner.
Sailing the boat two handed this is not a big deal, because the crew grabs it on their way across the boat mid tack. Sailing singlehanded its going to be rather more awkward. The Tasar is a nice boat, but I really don't think its going to be much fun to sail one singlehanded in restricted water. |

Had big chaps sailing Albacores successfully at our club. Excellent light wind boat.
