I'll sponsor it under the Electra banner, put a couple of bikes up, Girl and Boy. I'm sure we can scare up some other product prizes, depends I guess how many show up, we could be surprised..

Thanks Graeme
We will throw some nice, warm Sandiline clothing into the prizes and also fund some of the beer. Already looking like an event to compete in! Perhaps we should have a Masters prize also to give you and me a chance? (Zimmer Frame?) How about a prize for James just for coming?

and I will provide a copy or three of my book - but they need to go as spot prizes rather than for the winners

I guess Burghfield might be a good location being fairly central ... best thing is to make contact with the Commodore - Steve Barraclough via the on-site secretary there (see the website) .... would be good for a bit of publicity I'm sure.
I'll make an initial enquiry but probabaly best if you then take over Rodney (or Y&Y if their name is being used on this one !) .... it could be a sort of recontrituted Daycote silver salver ... not necessarily for the best in their classes but for those who have laid down their on-line reputations (such as they are ... or were) in the cause of winding up each other and entertaining the rest of you ... er sorry I mean discussing important issues of the day. Why limit it to two boats per class? I'd be happy to enter but hardly think I'm one of the top two Blazers on the forum!
Chew would be a decent venue (says he, not on the committee). |
