I think it’s a pigmented clear gel coat (if that’s not a contradiction) IIRC there are limited places a Finn ca use Carbon. Certainly the Stuff Devoti produce looks stunning, the layup is mint. Rodney's boat was the one on the Harken Stand (Black tint to foredeck) with Red capping on board case. It looked frankly awesome. Even the elastic control takes up was impressive! As I understand it the 100 Foredeck is just for cosmetics. So much like the Finn (its for cosmetics), other than the Finn just uses a pigmented clear Gel (sure it’s called something else) to show off its construction and the 100 is carbon stuck on top?? (please correct me if I am wrong) The D-one has either coloured decks or white with clear coat carbon sections. The later being my preference, but this is actual clear coat of the deck sections so what you would get if you took all the gel off. |

Aye, clear (or translucent) gelcoat. Very limit places where you can have carbon reinforcement, usually centreboard case capping, and around the mast deck hole Look at the second hand section of HIT for lots of variations. http://www.hit-masts.nl/?id=128. |

Yes they are all excluding Mast and Sail. How much for mast/Sail. How much do you want to spend, what do you need etc. I guess it ranges from the same moneys as a normal boat upto as much as you want to spend.
Finn Mast bend numbers are so individual that lots of mast are bespoke (as i understand it) so buting a complete boat maybe the wrond thing to do, its not like narrow or wide winds, the range of mast tuning is vast.
I think they are stunning boats, i would give my right one for a New Devoti Finn.

About £1k for a sail, £3k for a mast. In principle you might never need to buy another mast again (in principle...). The individual nature of rigs means people are more inclined to hold on to a rig if it works for them and upgrade the boat underneath it. |

Those Finns actually look prety good and the Devoti Finn that i have seen is beautifully well put together - but i expected a D-one to be about he same price, but the Finn is much more expensive.

I should imagine the Finn is more money then the D-one for a number of reasons, first being its almost certainly a more complicated build. I think every Finn may be bespoke to the owners requirements. But i am probably wrong.
Wither way they are MUCH more expensive then a D-one
