Any good ideas for where to hire a dinghy e.g. for half a day around St Ives or Lands End? Or anyone offering day sail in a yacht in that area?

Falmouth isn't far away from there and there's a company around there that hire out - Google should find it.

A variety of companies in Falmouth harbour hire boats. Windsport, Mylor sailing school and Roseland Paddle and Sail hire dinghies, day boats and Ribs etc. A variety of companies hire yachts. From St Ives around Lands End is not something I would recommend in a dinghy as the tide is strong and it is a very rocky coast. A Yacht would be better. Falmout hardbour, St Mawes, the Truro river and the Helford would be fine by dinghy and there are some great pubs. If you would like more details let me know.
