I think the handicapping worked very well this year. The top 20 read as a british sailing who's who. Even in the Moths, if any one of those five had won, no one would have batted an eyelid, just because we now have 5 very talented sailors in one class in their ideal conditions, why moan. I was very annoyed by the PY tinkering, but apart from some small classes which need adjusting, as they rarely go to these events, the results so far seem fair.
I am a convert.

As one of the classes that was "tinkered with" this year (10 points added to the handicap), the top sailor recalculated his results and said it made not a jot of difference.
Of course: being able to start just 5 seconds before everyone else at the Bloody Mary could have made a big difference!
