New sailor

   Hi Folks 
As a new member of the sailing world I am not shy in accepting advice from anyone with experience, especially as I'm in the latter side of 40 and don't mind getting assistance.
I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I've bought myself an oldish "seagull" dinghy, however the name doesn't seem to be popular in publications,  which would tell me it's quite old.  Does anyone have any information of these boats.
It's in not bad nick, certainly a cruiser, but ideal for myself I think.
I note that I have a jib and in most books I see single handed dinghies don't have jibs, have I boobed here?

	Yes many single handers do have just a single sail but they don't have to. The International Canoe Asymmetric has 3, but the more you have the more you have to handle. I don't know the Seagull but I like your avatar its nearly as good as mine.
