Naughty rogue ... monkies are not stupid you can only do one entry per computer ...

This survey is about perceptions of which classes are hard to win in ... why is that pointless?

I suspect Mr Tickle has been getting his mates to stuff the ballot box of the Lighning 368 & Supernova ... some responses look very bogus ...

For what it is worth here are the findings based on 29 responses. Pretty much what I'd expect ...

yeah but even with a few people voting for their favorites the masses generally overide the self interest...

I figure the above is resonable.

142 boats and 29 reponses - you've not even begun weeding out self interest or getting a representative sample, especially given the forum demographics.

yes, come on there must stilll be resilts coming in (and some classes probably have no votes at all yet?) -  give it some more time

also, you really need to divide the results for each class by the number of sailors from each class so that you overcome the effect of for example more laser sailors voting than, say, K1 sailors voting

I cant be bothered with all this. I have sailed in a few and spectated at many. In my opinion all fleets divide the same, a few at the top capable of winning, the bulk in the middle and a few at the back only there for the fun. Most National Champions are very good at it and there are a few 'rockstars' who have a unique, unquantifiable talent. Tricky to sail boats require skill and athleticism whereas more stable craft allow concentration on tactics rather than survival. They are all hard but in different ways.

62 people have now voted ... quite interesting to see how people behave.

Most have completed the question sensibly and scored over half the classes.

Some have just gone in and voted a 10 for a single class and left all other classes blank.

The offenders of this blatant ramping were:

Phantom x3
Albacore
Dart 18
K1

What is more surprising is the haters who deliberatly score down a class that is clearly competitive.

e.g.

Merlin Rocket4.3% (2)0.0% (0)0.0% (0)0.0% (0)4.3% (2)0.0% (0)6.5% (3)19.6% (9)32.6% (15)32.6% (15)8.4846

How can 2 people think that the Merlin Nationals is a easy win? Clearly Merlin haters ... but with 46 people commenting I think we can see the consensus ... it's a tough nationals to win.

But it's an internet survey, what's the point if you can't manipulate the results when they are not to your liking?

btw- seamonkies are not stupid, they just haven't heard of dynamically assigned IP addresses by rebooting your router* down there in deepest, darkest Kent.
