Nope, it certainly doesn't. The two classes have very different performance profiles which appeal to quite different sailors - the RS600 is a modern high powered skiff, the Contender an excellent, but more traditional and stable boat. Ian |

You'll never hire anything worthy of being called a cat. If you want a tough single handed HP cat that is easy to handle on shore, try an A Class Inter 17 or F-16. Inter 17 and F-16 one up cat rigged and spinnaker also has the benifit of racing 2 up twin trap with kite and jib.

Those A-class Flyers from the Taipan guys are a beautiful piece of kit. A rich bugger got one recently at our club because he was frustrated with his Taipan and wanted a bit more speed!

Probably the most efficient rig designed behind the solid wind C Class cats. 18 foot long, all carbon and weigh in at 75 kg fully rigged. Before the minimum weight rule, boats were down to 60 kg rigged. Despite light weight.... Very tough boats. Also argumently the quickest one man boat in the world.
With a very strong international Class
Some A Class skylacking
