I don't think you could cope with such a monster and I think you deserve the Twin-V GRUMPH - remember Agingcourt...

Mr Ham,
I'll defend anything that isn't simply "sit up and beg" sailing...

"I just want a boat I can jump into at the weekend without having to spend lots of time practicing in"
Quote James for most of the last year. "I'm going to be sailing a cherub singlehanded!" Quote James today. I salute you, shine on you crazy diamond!! |

Well having read a bit about it now, far be it from me to disagree, sounds like he's another person after my own heart, wanting to just jump into a boat and blast as fast as it is possible to, without having to dedicate his entire waking hours to it and seriously hasn't he done enough? He's been sailing dinghies since he was a child. (that's about friday week ago mentally).
So what is it, or was it? Looks definitely as if it has a touch of the cherub brush about it, does this mean he'll be getting p1ssed and throwing up on tesco lite lager, reaching around and never getting upwind, developing ever more interesting tailwalk techniques, if it's a cherub it'll not even be on the same part of the course as the V-dub five minutes after the gun... But good luck and welcome back from the precipice, so nearly cast down amongst the sodomites in Cat hell. Edited by iGRF - 15 Mar 11 at 2:54pm |

yep you are right. The Rogue will be at the windward mark and the V-Dub will just have had the clamp taken off, for parking in a disabled space :-) Edited by Jack Sparrow - 15 Mar 11 at 4:38pm |

Can I bask in the glory of coming up with this idea, I mentioned James should buy a Cherub and sail it single handed when I was trying to crucify that RS lot on the 400 proposed changes thread for making the 400 an even rubbisher lump that no-one will be able to flog on. I think I should change my name to "The Prophet" and assume my real name. Uhoh, that's going the GRF way....
In all seriousness, love the concept. With this rogue skiff thing, could I develope a 16 foot carbonfibre monster skiff and it recieve acceptance? There is too much boundedness in the UK to "we all should stick to well founded classes and stiffle innovation". Plays right into the hands of those who build rubbish mainstream classes and make a raging profit out of mundane rubbishness.

There's no point in building something without any purpose, look at the millenium dome... (or the new 400). Like the unrestricted league concept, I'd cap a build cost limit on £12k just to mix it up a bit.

If you want to do it can that not be its purpose?

If you can't carry it, don't sail it! |
