Does it make any difference to the life of sails which way you roll them?

I notice my mylar sails seem to remember the way I rolled them. So today after drying in the garage overnight I rolled them the other way.

I'm sure my Dacron ones don't have such a memory.

Is it more ok to roll wet mylay/kevlar rather than wet dacron - which ways always a no-no for me?
Like some other things - sailing is more enjoyable when you do it with someone else

I doubt that the direction of rolling makes much, if any any, difference. Rolling a wet Dacron sail won't do it any real harm although it may develop a bit of a smell. Laminates hold even less moisture than Dacron so will be even less of a problem. Remember, they use laminates on off-shore boats and those sails won't get dried before being stuffed below decks on a sail change.

Best wishes from deep in the woods
