I'm doing up an old Miracle (sail no 390). It's got a Holt mast currently without speaders, I've aquired 350mm spreaders but could anyone help me with how far up the mast these should be located? |

Class Association is a good idea - there may well be rules involved...
A quick trawl of photos on the YY website suggests they are consistently located about half way between heel and hounds, which is what you'd expect of a spar with no deck or gooseneck level support. Probably rather more impotrant is the typical angle and length that's been found to be best, which is a lot more difficult to estimate from photos... Back to the class association - get some value out of your subs! |

Aye, Thanks Jim. Subs are in the post, happy to support the association. It's been a long time since I sailed a small dinghy, all the fittings and blocks look very light weight but I guess they're up to the job. |

Rule 1 [f] Spreaders of a rigid type at a recommended height from the mast step of 2670mm, length and deflection angle optional but non adjustable when sailing are permitted. |
