how to fit a gps chartplotter


   i'm getting a 27ft yacht going to use it as a live aboard

need to fit a gps/chart plotter to navigate accurately 

i was thinking of getting a navman 550i and was wondering

does it have an internal aerial or do i need to fit an 

external 

aerial to the mast just need to know any experts advice
