I've always felt it's way over the top. (then I would wouldn't I)
sorry for posting it here, it should be in the website bit, but polls are not a feature of that forum. |

Now moved to 'For the website' and polls are now allowed in that section - not sure why I hadn't set them allowed before! |

I think it's reasonable. The people who get moderated are generally outspoken and whose views aren't really that meaningful to the greater sailing community. Mark is pretty level headed with his moderation and I feel it makes the forum a nicer place to visit. Keyboard warriors don't generally bring much to the party apart from trying to fan their own egos.

I can see this is going to be another buoyancy vest thread.
At the end of the day all the folk who think it's too harsh have probably long since buggered off. Bit like reader surveys. Ask them about the mag of course they're going to say its fine, even when there are only two left. Same as sailing class members ask them if they want to change anything, like build their nice Contender in epoxy, what do you think they're going to say. |

Mark and Mags do a great job while doing the magazine work. Difficult job but someone has to do it.

Hmmm, so if a survey doesn't agree with your thoughts, it is because all the people who filled it in are wrong, even when there are 100's of them? Could it possibly be because the majority don't agree with you? If you don't care that you have a minority view (and I'm sure you don't) why bother with a poll in the 1st place?

Rupert I wouldn't expect any survey to agree with my thinking, not in a
million years. Its the difference between being a free thinker and a repressed dinghy mind I guess. Oh and in case you were wondering, no I definitely don't agree with civil partnerships I think one should remain in the closet. Edited by G.R.F. |
