Camera was fujifilm Z33 WP (about £100) standard compact with video option at 640x480 pixels.water proof to 3m. Was attached to the boat in a very bodged way......
7ft old spinny pole (25mm allly) was tied to the footstrap securing point with 1.5mm dynemma and then taped at the transom with electrical tape. In the end of that pole went an old 4ft tiller which I had bent the end up in a gentle curve to give more height to camera. the very end was squashed flat in a vice and the camera taped to this with electrical tape! To improve I want to get hold of a length of 40x40 T-section ally to replace it as I reckon there will be less oscillation with it.( I cut out the worst bits, but there is a lot of bounce om camera when you do a bit of kinetic hiking. and going through waves with it would be messy! Great bodge and great results. You're right about the potential for bounce - I sail on the sea and would love to get that angle, but I'm worried about stability in waves and chop.
Thanks for the info - I can see a new project coming on.......... |

What caused them to sail into the shore?
Shorely they could've avoided it?! |

They broke the rudders in the collision with the leeward boat. stupid mistake by them in not giving right of way, but scaaary situation afterwards. |

Look at the video Rothchild was sailing faster and tried to dive under them; then bailed out and took the rudders. |
