Hi James,

Great update - thanks.

Bummer that you got one of the early boats with a soft-sail rig - new
ones coming with solid wing rig and 1000msq genniker (soo.... 2009 soft
sails and spinakers !).

Hope there is absolutely no wind for the next month & half - so you don't
get too much early practice !!

Role on end March !! Cant wait now.

Chris

PS - how could you miss the AC racing !!!! Absolutely awesome racing
and so great to see Bertarelli blown away so convincingly.
Not now Kato (you fewl) !

RS100 421 (8.4)
Ex - Vortex Assymetric 1090 and 1208
Ex - 49er NZL142 (crew)

Not pro American just pro fairness and good sportsmanship - I was fully behind GGYC and BMW/O simply because of the totally
unreasonble agreements between ISAF and SNG, and the complete
lack of independence in having SNG run the racing seemingly by any rule they
thought would suit Alinghi best

Hey James great you have your boat.

Is yours the first customer delivered boat?

Are there others now delivered along with yours?

Just out of interest did I read that you are opting to tow with the mast taken apart? Is it easier than leaving assembled and laying in mast post as per normal.

Cheers,

Keith.

I'll try my best Steve!

Jim- same as Dave re BMWO. It's popular misnomer that the AC33 was nothing
more than a dick-swinging pi$$ing contest between two billionaires. However
further time spent really trying to understand the AC33 and all its bullsh*t
reveals that the contest was not who actually has the biggest dick,
it in fact who's acting like the biggest dick- a reverse-win game of
bullsh*t, PR, legal wrangling, rule infringement and blatant displays of
arrogance- and for that Ernesto won it in spades, therefore forfeiting the
moral victory before it even got on the water. The personalised insults to
RC and LE were well outside of any sportsmanship displayed in our sport, the
conduct was not only detrimental to sailing in terms of sponsorship
revenues, but quite frankly it makes you embarrassed to be European, but
then Swiss aren't really are they?

Putting himself on the stick just capped off how much of prick he really
is... arrogance is never a virtue. He was completely out-gunned in the pre-
start on the first race, and even with Spithill's own confession of a f**k-
up for getting stuck in irons, Bertarelli conceded that lucky 600+M lead
within the first 5NM... okay BMWO wing and trimming was superior technology
with expert execution no question, but FFS, how many times did Alinghi have
two hulls dragging- up and downwind... surely that's sloppy helmsmanship,
and quite frankly an arrogant insult at this level of the sailing game.

Anyway back to RS100s and real sailing... hey I've just had a thought on the
next AC... Nick, what's happening to those two old prototypes kicking around
the yard?

I was of the opinion that the legal battles mostly went the way of the Americans, esp. the choice of venue. Also, imagine getting  out to the Middle East venue, having BMWO tolerate the venue seemingly, sending out reps to talk to the other side about onshore facilities  etc. and then having that dipstick American court jester turn it around, virtually in the last minute.

Well, let 'em have the dammned thing and shove it. After all, the Americas Cup was designed for an American arse. The Swiss ARE European. We Brits can't cope with: the EU and being with it when it means responsibility, seing other European nations able to do with/without it. It fair makes me puke when I see what other "island apes" think about what was originally part of their heritage.
