Well that's an interesting Germanicism that didn't make the translation.. The toothpaste 'sets'? I guess you're talking about that stuff that keeps your dentures in place.. They put Fluoride in our water years ago, you even get a dose when you capsize on the London Res's, so we've pretty much all still got our own teeth. I realise with the preponderance of male to male oral sex in Germany your toothlessness is advantageous.. But no, the toothpaste doesn't actually set over here.. Edited by G.R.F. |

Meaning "sikaflex" or generically, marine silicon. What prompted the rest? |

As I once pointed out to a friend and colleague who worked Long term in
Munich, the human body is over 75% water inevitably the process of total Germanification sets in by natural causes and with it, total sense of humour failure.. (and an obsession with Pork Knuckles) He returned to Blighty where he now runs courses, therapy helplines for expats recently returned with ridiculous notions, like unnatural Boat choice.. Do you want me to book you an appointment? |

why did i not just buy one of these while they were cheap!? It looks like the perfect boat for me as a cross between a laser and a 700, if i sell both now it leaves me with about 6500 quid, annoyingly just short of a 100! I recon this is a boat i could jump straight into and be reasonably competetive because of my laser sailing and the assy work from the 700. I'm kicking myself!

That is a great shot !
Back to the video (thanks Keith), and as a continuation of the "compared to a Phantom" discussion... at 4.40 on the video is that a Phantom that the RS100 nicely sails under and out in front after rounding the leeward mark ? Nice move if it is ! Having followed the transom of a lot of Phantoms upwind in the lighter stuff (!) no doubts at all about what a fantastic weapon it is in those conditions - if the 100 does match it then that will be a considerable achievement - however, downwind.....dont think there will be any comparison - the inboard kneeling down position for the Phantom running is the one thing that put me off ever going down that route. Back to the video, she appears very nimble (more so than I thought) and looks like she planes pretty easily with the kite in not much breeze. Reckon that Musto is being towed by a RIB though ! But there again, that is chalk-and-cheese and wouldn't expect any comparison at all as the PY's show. Beautiful boat the MPS for those good enough to sail it well and with suitable open water. Think the 100 is going to be LOADS of fun !!!! Had thought of calling my boat "Simples" - but she-who-has-to-be- obeyed said if I did she wouldn't let me have the money !! Edited by ChrisC |

Looks like a Solution to me, rather than a Phant (concave foredeck).

how would that work when the total value of both boats is only 6500 quid?

I've seen this guys video equipment - big big lens. So distances are foreshortened - the musto could be half the distance away. If so, she could be going same speed but would appear to be going about twice as fast. Probably a combination of effects going on inthis shot and yes the Musto is definately going faster, but if speed alone = cool what about the speed that Moth goes through the frame?
