The 190ft long solid wing sail developed for DOGzilla has been finished. Im sure SNG will have some sort of rule changing prepared to stop BMWO from using it. Edited by s.a.l.t.y |

It's looks incredible. Bigger than any aircraft wing that has ever flown. In fact a comparable size to a windmill sail. Hope they don't drop it like the mast last week. That could kill someone.

I don't understand why everyones getting so excited - after all didn't DC race against the big white boat in a cat with a solid-sail, in what late 80's?
Ok so size wise it's impressive but hi-tech construction has moved on 20 years, and there's been lots of projects to learn from e.g. C-class and the speed guys n girls. |

Because something like it on anything like this scale hasn't been attempted before. How fast in a straight line are these boats going to be? |

regardless of any of the bull that surrounds its existence, there's no doubt that's one awesome looking bit of engineering.

To put it into context, it's about the height of 17 stories of a tower block. If you're in a town, have a look at one and count 17 floors - it's a long way up.
