C'mon then guys. This is Villan's idea (see the photo thread) and I think we should take up the challenge, maybe even propose it as an Olympic Class. We have the design expertise in here, we have the buying public for market research and we have the invaluable input of Mr Peters, Mr Noble, the folks from allen, so let's make our own boat...
I vote for a three person skiff with trapeze and assymetric, but the class rules will state there has to be a female member of crew when racing.... |

the same, but different...

No- the RS 1000 should be the three person... The 900 should be something like the SK4...

dave that way has nothing to do with the way RS design their boats, each boat is designed around another class! ie a rs200 is a n12 with kite and a rs800 is a lighter easier L5000.
so the 900 has to be a SK4 or 18ft skiff type craft! *edited due to bad grammar* Edited by ratface |

Why, when we already have 18s and the SK4 If you want to invent a new class, at least have some shred of originality... |

right what we need is some form of submersible sailing dinghy to get over the bow wave drag thingy.

18's are hardly the most practical boats- They take hours to rig and have two rigs...
I was thinking that a new RS would be to the 18 what the 800 is to the 49er- a cheaper, easier to sail and all round more manageable version. |

How about changing it from Mono to Multihull, RS haven't yet done one, so what about a robust yet decent Cat boat!
Um, this sounds more interesting. If we go down the Monohull route, there are so many out there and so similar. |

ok to sort out the righting moment thing on the submersible craft you can have the crew on sliding seats at the top of the mast. Im now going away to make a doodle of what it will look like, maybe i can fit this sliding rig thing of GRFs into it as well... |
