For what is worth..... 49ers. Looks like they've blown it. Unless the teams in front of them have a day like they did yesterday then they are too far out of contention. Having to count 2 14ths is gonna hurt even if they won the medal race (assuming they qual) Finn. You really wouldn't bet against Ben would you? With the lead he and Zach have at this point, and Ben's match racing skills it looks like the new format is a BENifit to Ainsle (see what I did there?) RSx Men. Nicks gotta be looking at a medal but the Israeli sailor is well out in front and looking unstoppable. Guess its gonna be Nick Ayton then....silly boy! RSx Women The Chinese girl is on fire. Gotta be the safest position of any sailor at the moment. Byrony looks like she's in with a shout for a medal. Like Nick she's gonna need to turn it on in the medal race. Yngling. Wow who saw the dutch coming? A good position for the girls though very consistent, if they sail a shocker from now on they count a 7, if the dutch sail another shocker it's a 13. Thats a nice feeling! They are showing their experience and staying cool. Could make for an interesting last normal race if they still haven't sailed worse than 7. Sail the dutch to the back sew up the event and go for a no pressure cruise in the Medal race. 470 Men. Well after a poor 1st race normal service has resumed, only problem being of course there's not a lot of room for any more mistakes. thats a lot of pressure to handle for a whole series. One more shocker could be the difference between a hunting for a gold and not making the medal race...... Laser men. Paul the example set by the 470 boys was not one to follow....see above. Laser women. Ditto. 470 women. Alright enough now folks just cause Ben does it doesn't mean it's clever!! outside chance of a medal. Of course it the lottery world of Qingdo (Jim your wrong it is a S**te venue and should never have been allowed to host an Olympic regatta) anything could happen in the next 5 days!! |

I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

Have to agree with most of that I don't think Ben has it all done and dusted though - a couple of bad results and its all open again Yngling - I think they will do it despite the Dutch |

Fair review but I suspect given the conditions nothing is in the bag until it's over ... very unpredictable venue as expected. Nasty clumps of weed on the water in the Radial coverage this morning ... I hate weed |

i think the 9er boys will pull it back together, there's such a long way to go and like they unfortunatly proved yesterday, it can happen to anyone - its too hard to predict still.

cant seem to follow the link, but the fleets only get one discard?? even if all races are completed? I thought it would have been two discards for that many races? |

heard the dutch yngling crew only raced together for the first time at the Olympics itself - talk about an interesting selection policy!.... still doesn't seem to have hurt their performances so far.
Come on you brits! |
