What's happening with the Metcheck site? All I can see is a welcome screen from the registrars. Have they gone bust? Forgot to pay their bill? |

There was a message showing on their site (a couple of days ago?) which said that they were moving to new servers...........perhaps it hasn't gone well

Brilliant, thanks Dave! Now I've just have to wait until they've sorted out the stickies and I can amend the Lancing SC site. Good to see that an informative and entertaining site hasn't gone down at all. As for the BBC weather service ... honestly... I look at XC Weather (UK Windmap) and Magic Seaweed, and the Inshore Waters from the met Office. It would never occur to me to look at the BBC, it's bad enough on TV! |

Provided you sail near an airfield. We're lucky because we're only a few hundred yards from Shoreham Airport weather station. It also covers France, Spain, Germany and Italy, so you can check the data while you're away or you can keep tabs on the wind strength for friends in open meetings. When they come back claiming it was howling every day... For accuracy and entertainment value, you can have a look at Magic Seaweed: http://magicseaweed.com/UK-Ireland-MSW-Surf-Charts/1/wind/in / |

I must admit that XC weather has always been the prefered site for long term & short term predictions & will take some beating
