The picture you want must be on the web somewhere. If you originally got it from a website, go their and right click on the picture and copy the address, that is the URL you need to use. If its not on the web then you'll have to put it there by uploading to some webspace somewhere (many accounts give some free web space). Use an FTP program to upload, make a note of the address and that will be the URL you need to use. If you are uploading do consider how many bytes the picture is, between a few tens to a few hundred kbytes is about right - use image editing software to get the size right before you upload.

sorry - just thought I'd test another option...... If your pic is on the PC, right click and open with Internet Explorer.... right click that picture, select "copy" and then paste into your "post reply" on the forum |

Sometimes there is another "image upload" button that you can use. It is not here on this reply box I am using. However it is on the one for the sexiest boat thread - strange. Can anyone explain this. It is the same as the "add image" button showing a tree but this also has a blue vertical arrow in the box. |

Hi all, Image uploads are a thorny issue on browsers. Some internet browsers don't support the features that make alot of what goes on in the forum possible and some thing they do but do a botch job at getting it right. The forum software tries to work out what browser you've got to give you the right buttons when typing in messages. Both Redback and Contender443 have given options on how to upload pictures - trial and error will find the best option to work for you! If you use a Mac you're in all sorts of trouble - they hardly support any of the browser extensions (and don't have a right mouse button!) Cheers, Mark |
