What sort of boat is it? Toppers you can restore the colour with a heat gun, carefully...

There is no point painting a topper, seen it done, only looks good until you sail it. TBH a plastic boat is plastic for a reason, no or very little maintenance. |

If it's the same stuff (Polypropylene) or the more common material for rotomoulding (Polyethylene) you are going to struggle as they are very 'greasy' plastics, however if you are determined and think it's financially viable check here *clicky*. This site is great and has got me out many a hole.

Wonderful site. I particularly enjoyed the article about chromate conversion coatings! ("...know the importance of a good chromate passivation") Great stuff. The very definition of nerdiness.

if its plastic i personally wouldnt bother. but if yur dead set then car spray would probably be a safe bet (one GP14 at our club decided they wanted the back half to be blue and used car spray - seems ok so far - 4months ish) |

Whilst there might be some very expensive specialist coatings I am aware of nothing you can buy in a high street shop that will stay on through normal boat usage. |
