Skiff/foiling fatigue set in early.
505 look great. N12 looked great. Streakers trying hard - it might happen. Solos all over the place - did they have the most boats of any class? Speckled hen from the barrel - top marks! Hartley's Wayfarer looked - err - good. Peter Vincent good as always. Everyone - if you have a kite it looks better firm rather than limp. The Squib no D12 in sight - must have been the only one in that room. I14's getting uglier. The Alto - why? Those sit in boats near the bar - what all that about then? Weird. Most string - FF vs Merlin. The demographic of attendees seems to be maturing. No big WOW (last was the gorgeous wooden phantom of (2?) years ago. |

N12 Did look good Graduate new mainsail - interesting as they will be sailing it off the same PY New BLAZE Gorgeous..... But I am biased... New Streakers look very nice shame they were hidden away in the other hall And where did all those Solo's come from - I've never seen so many in the same place before.

I'm too lardy for this one but it did look very nice. Met loads of people whilst at the show, very social, and didn't spend at much as normal !

The show never seems as exciting after you've been to a few... so enjoy your first few folks! I've been to so many and stood on a stand so often I can't be bothered to go. Spent today a) working, b) IC bimbling and c) helping put in a new mains supply to the club and can't say I miss doing the show...

OK thanks for the tips. We have just got the family up, done Mother's day (breakfast and pressies in bed for BNS) and are getting ready to go to the show. I see no mention of the Contenders by anyone else... I went to Stokes Bay yesterday to collect and another Contender (long story!!). As there was a Laser Q event on it was crawling with Laser squadies - I never reaslised how small Laser sailors are getting. Maybe I have spent too long in the Contender fleet. |

I thought the show was great! Earls Court could learn a lot. Met Ben Ainsley and Paul Goodison and got a couple of Autographs Chatted to Geoff Holt - what a great man Met up with the guys at Hartley Laminates - great stand and a really friendly bunch of blokes. New Wanderer is a great family boat. My daughter loved the bug (well...it is better looking than the Optimist) I loved the look of the sunfish and the Finn Loads of great stalls in which to part me with my cash |
