has this already been discussed but really what a load of rubbish. There is only 1 way an albacore to manage 22 knots and that would be surfing down the wave of a tsunami!!! We were happy to get just over 20 in our 49er on flat water in 18knots of wind.

This is even more ridiculas than the blaze...

I sailed Albacores for a while and they are great boats, but there is NO WAY that one would manage 22 knots!  I would thought 12 knots is very quick in one and even at that speed the spray blinds you !  I think that has just made a farce of the whole competition!!!

Ive sailed my dads Albacore in big breeze and NEVER wuda come close to 22 knots! would of thought the boat have been sucked into the water before that point!

The figures don't lie.
You're all just jealous that there is a sailor in this country that is far superior to you all and can, in fact, make the seemingly impossible possible!!
You may take your cherubs, 14s, 12s out in a bit of breeze and hit some good speeds but clearly this albacore guy was wayyy more hardcore and has beaten you all at your own game!!
Well done Mister Albacore - I salute you!
