has this already been discussed but really what a load of rubbish. There is only 1 way an albacore to manage 22 knots and that would be surfing down the wave of a tsunami!!! We were happy to get just over 20 in our 49er on flat water in 18knots of wind. This is even more ridiculas than the blaze... heres the link... http://www.yachtsandyachting.com/speedfreaks/?s=3&USFN=1 54 Edited by Skiffman |

Maybe it was being towed by some monster power boat?

I sailed Albacores for a while and they are great boats, but there is NO WAY that one would manage 22 knots! I would thought 12 knots is very quick in one and even at that speed the spray blinds you ! I think that has just made a farce of the whole competition!!!

The figures don't lie.
You're all just jealous that there is a sailor in this country that is far superior to you all and can, in fact, make the seemingly impossible possible!! You may take your cherubs, 14s, 12s out in a bit of breeze and hit some good speeds but clearly this albacore guy was wayyy more hardcore and has beaten you all at your own game!! Well done Mister Albacore - I salute you! |
