The floor is open, but nobody is dancing from the RYA, but rather hiding their heads in the sands hoping we will go away.

i sail a 29er and am of coarse for the 29er being put in there. But can someone explain to me why we have to have a multi-hull? I don't see the harm in dropping it.

At a time when ISAF seems to be wanting to make our sport more 'media friendly' with the innovation of medal races etc. it would seem crazy to drop one of the fastest and most exciting branches of sailing (barring perhaps 18 footers). i am meerly a monohull keelboat and dingy sailor but i still believe that all branches should be represented at the top level. i would also suggest that if we want to make olympic sailing more appealing to the non-sailing public perhaps we should introduce team or match racing to the olympics, but thats an argument for another day. |

I think that says it all. A good balance of all types of sailing, whilst giving the public (non sailors) the excitment that TV demands. Johninda As a 29er you should be arguing for inclusion as well as a cat not at the expense of a cat. Would you happily argue to drop a laser? Edited by Stuart O |

Clearly with over 9000 views this is easily THE MOST important issue on this forum.
4times more than any other issue and 10 times more views all but one thread. RYA, ISAF, BOA are you watching this? |

No, but I'd be prepared to drop the men's and women's 470. If something has to go, and all branches of the sport should be represented, then why is the RYA's proposal wall-to-wall dinghy? |

While it's great that Rod Carr has invited Brian Phipps and Rob White to a meeting to discuss all this, shouldn't UKCRA be represented there as well? After all, they represent all the UK catamaran classes. What do others think? Wiz |
