Adam you will be fine with the sheet loads the kites arnt that big! not even mast head, 5k is good intro into skiff sailing, and you will soon build up your muccels pulling the thing up and down the dinghy park.

Cheap 14s are very good value. Although not as robust, they would be a lot more responsive, have better class racing and maybe a bit faster. Plus for the price of a 5k you could get a 14 with carbon masts etc!
