I think the topic has died as I posted yesterday and couldn't see it and English Dave has posted and I can't see that one so here is part 2......

My post yesterday said:

I agree with all the comments made

I am not going to name name's but if anyone fancies typing the name for a formula one race along with the sailing location mentioned in part 1 a few times, google it and you should find a site where the message is contained

Mmmm, tricky one this really.  I agree, negative critisism of an event after the event on a forum is not great, however (assuming I've found the right post) I did not think the wording was harsh, and assuming the content was true, it was just a statement of fact.  I don't think the person concerned holds the RC respinsible for the chop!

Sometimes it can be tricky to have a word with the RC at the event, if there is a lot of bias on a line but people are getting cold and wanting to get racing you might be unpopular if you are clever enough to sail up to the CB and tell them you think the line needs moving.

From the other side of the fence, people will have taken time off work and paid a lot of money to enter an event, and to then lay the windward on one tack can be very frustrating indeed.  I attended an event recently with a couple of very biased courses and it was a bit annoying.

However we have all been there when things have conspired against us as RC, I've been mid sequence at my club (lake) in a CB that got towed out due to engine problems, only to drift down (no more chain to pay out) onto a gybe mark meaning that the first boats away were having to gybe through a gap 20 foot wide whilst the end starters could only lay the line on one tack!
