The Crew (In the water of course! ) Says:
"But of course" He also says that his feet were just about touching the bottom there ( when he stands up straight ) but he was trying to pose as well!! Yes, also, that helm spends a lot of time on the centerboard, so he takes time to practice his "moves" |

Amazing weather really, however the water is still pretty chilly although you wouldn't know it from this picture taken on Tuesday:

Know someone who wore hikers out a few months back and ended up with hypothermia and spending the night in A+E.... As Redback says, the water is about as cold as it gets just now through to April as the sea temp is a 2-3 months behind the air temp, ie in the water it's still December/January time. I caught hypothermia in April 2001 wearing a 3/5mm wetsuit, so even although it feels warmish onshore, it can be deceptively cold on the water. |

Yes totally mad. What's the water temperature, 8 or 10 degrees? Without a wetsuit you'll only have a 2 or 3 minutes in the water before your strength has gone and you won't be able to get out without help. That's too risky. I like the idea of being self sufficient, being able to survive whatever is thrown at me. That's why I like to sail in strong winds and wild places. If I'm going to do that I have to be prepared for the conditions. |

Is it totaly mad to not even wear a wetsuit at the end of Feb??? I have refused to were a wetsuit when sailing and am currently sailing in my hiker shorts and rash vest. Its not to cold. I hate wearing a drysuit it is so restricting yet at least it lets you sail throughout the months there is snow on the ground - i.e. 1 week.

Perfect conditions on Sunday for sailing International 14s. It must have been 16 mph from the south all day. Few gusts and the boat was powered up all the time, upwind and down we never came off a full blooded plane - well except when we were swiming - of course.

I did do my homework! Or some of it. It was not an excuse really, I was a good girl and set myself a time to stop at .
