Purely as a kite flying exercise If I had a £1000 and wanted to get the bang for my money what would people suggest. I'm about 12st, dont mind if its single of double handed, dont mind doing some rebuilding but would rather not be replacing large parts of the hull every weekend, and prefer trapezing (but not that fussed). I just want to go fast cheeply. |

If your only club racing, The Laser 5000! good ones are aound £750-£1000 with lots of kit! They still have a circuit but not many do it.There are lots sailing at club level though. We have 3 regulary sailing at our club, and they are great fun, and don't break! I know I'm biased! (but I haven't got one anymore ) Edited by les5269 |

I hate to say it and I understand anyone who burns me for this, but..
If I only had £1000 and I was looking for speed. I would struggle not to be tempted by a kitesurfer or a windsurfer. Low maintanance, fast and fun. Less fun than proper sailing but probably more bang for your buck. |
