My dislike of footwear afloat is well documented elsewhere, and following a
slip off the wire the other night resulting in the termination of the downhaul clew of my dish rag, I tried barefoot last night - mistake, no better at all. I'm wondering, any of you ever tried waxing the rails, gunwhales, gunnels, whatever you call them? Edited by Graemef |

I put surfboard wax on the 300 and it does help. Boat looks like crap though as all the dirt sticks to it. Progrip is your best bet. |

Not all chemicals are bad. Without chemicals such as hydrogen and
oxygen, for example, there would be no way to make water, a vital ingredient in beer. |

Progrip? Like on windsurfing booms?
Soft but firm sponge like material, bit expensive, weighty isn't it? |

With Fizz on this one. Once you've sailed a few times it becomes obvous which parts of the boat you need to wax ie where you plant your feet! Funny time was BBSC Faithfull took the boat for a spin. He obviously stood where I hadn't waxed the deck. He sheeted in, the boat accelerated and he flew out the back. |

Pro grip is the way to go. Wax is ok but it gets very dirty and on hot light days starts to melt and get on your gear. Rick |

Board wax has never cut the mustard for me. Not enough grip. Got to be pro grip.
