Most people give very little away in their Profile, but one thing I guess most of us would be happy to give is the name of our sailing club. Maybe in place of one of the rarely used lines (like age!).

Knowing people's home waters might give a clue as to why people hold certain opinions on certain topics... (tho' age would help there too!)

Yeah, it would be really nice to see that stuff in the profiles, god knows how people know the boat I sail, what club I represent or which insurance company I use.  Reckon my phone must be tapped or something . Joking aside, sounds like quite a good idea.

I agree: don't want to give away my DOB, (too useful to thieves), but I would like to know peoples clubs and classes.

I mentioned in another thread, I'd love to know when forumites were coming to my club, so me and the dog can say "hello"!

How about it, Y+Y?

I need to get a new boat too............the best reason, to confuse the hell out of people. I'm seeing a very swifty 18 foot skiff campaign coming up!

Having Sailing Club is a great idea! Have just updated my profile.

Most of the fields are very dull. Club, first boat, current boat, dream boat, favourite Open venue, all much more relevant.
