You could always do the honourable thing and go for the Viking burial at sea.

Probably best not to do this during sunday sailing or indeed when anyone else is watching

When you find a big kettle of crazy it's probably best not to stir it - Pointy Haired Boss

*makes mental note: When sending burning boats out to sea, remove commodore before pushing off*

Now i'm lovin' the Viking burial thing, but I think we can go a bit further.  As well as burning petrol pack the boat with firework arranged in all sorts of wacky directions, add catherine wheels etc, light push offf into sea/lake/river run, watch from safe distance, I personally think it's up to the idividual whether or or you remove the Commodore
I might be sailing it, but it's still sh**e!

After thinking long and hard about it, I would prefer to keep the Commodore of our club ashore. Not only because I'm rather non-violent, but also because he's the father of my children.
Still, all that talk is about a Laser. Now, if you want to burn a CONTENDER, he might jump in the flames on his own accord!

Oops I'm new here and just posted an empty message, sorry.

What I wanted to say is: What do you mean by irreparable?

One of the best properties of GRP boats is that you can 'easily' repair them. Just rub down the weak part and add more glass and resin. Or am I being too optimistic here?
