Love the Broads been our goal to end up there one day, I also experienced a boat with a sail for the first time there s a kid, one of those tow behind dinghys the rental cruisers use our first family holiday as kids summer 59 I recall, was out of Brundal and my dinghy experienc on Ranworth Broad, we got it going and even got back to where we started from not bad for 10 and 11 year old kids with no instruction could you imagine that even be allowed to happen today? We've been up there many many times, used to do the photography for the Blakes Catalogue in the seventies (another life as a photographer when it was an actual profession and tricky skill). I was also probably the first person to have to pay for river tax on a windsurfer, back in 77/8 I reckon, they didn't know what to do or where to stick the license disc thing you got back then and I even refrained from telling them where to stick it..

charter boat booked for tomorrow - it has an engine.  I guess that doesn't count, but without my PB L2 from the dinghy instructors qualification, I wouldn't be renting it.

The broads tax disc.. long gone.. Ever since they bought a cheap batch and all the print washed off..
Now all the rangers carry a tablet with boat / name  / registration number / has the tax been paid..

I did 6 years in Saudi so I could afford to move here, even then it's not in one of the Favoured areas couldn't afford that... I'm outside the park area (it's not a national park) but I can see it from the garden....

No wind for the wing, so no sailing unfortunately- but not even GrumpyKnickers would complain

There’s a centre down the road with RS Boats aplenty … sadly not renting to non residents at the moment as they are fully booked, but well worth considering to the normal sailing holiday options. Has windsurfers, kite surfers, foil boards etc too… plus inflatable SUPs, because they’re awesome
