After our stunning (not) performance in that race yesterday (checking if the Ringo parking App really does work on the start line and later 2x720s in zero wind, I think we will be starting next Sunday's race just after the British Moths finish their open on Saturday.....Actually scratch that as we won't be there, so we will bank it for another time.😂 Prior to the start we had trouble launching the boat, probably because we had inadvertently left the bailers open and because the aluminium trolley floats they were catching on the main support. As we came off the water the duty officer suggested that perhaps the boat was trying to tell us something before we set off..... I think he was right! |

It was the third race of our personal handicap series yesterday . It never seems to matter much to me as I must be a very very average sailor as my time comes in a couple on mins then I have a good result and I go back to my normal start time . And that what happened yesterday, I won and my time will go back to normal. It’s does mix things up those as I am the second person out of three races done to win a race that are not normal regular race winners . Some of the normal race winners are starting 5 + minutes later than their normal start times and some of our less good sailor are stating up to 8 mins earlier. I would not want to to this kind of racing all year round but it’s a great thing to do just for one series to mix things up and give everyone the chance to have their day in the sun .

Went to the full size editor, the arrow symbol on the icon line of the quick editor, then on the new icon line there is the tree icon with an up arrow on that clicked that.
Another page comes up, with choose file. Did so, and it worked. Note my pics are stored as Jpegs of less than 3Mb Normally, this site has a limit of 5Mb and I think that's per posting not per picture. |

Did get out on Saturday for a Solo Club race, 20 starters, happy to take 5th in a race when could easily been 15th. But a better last mark rounding could have got me 2nd. Must remember to position for the overlap on the pack rather than gamble on more pressure to leeward.

Made a good start, note the distorted sail is due to breaking the gooseneck earlier, it's tied on with a bit of string. |

Good race yesterday, nice wind in a nice direction for our club. It was second race of our personal handicap series which always shakes things up.( in the first race we had a new race winner ). It never makes much difference to me , I am a very average sailor so my start time never changes more than a minute of two round my py start. But it makes a big difference to the sailors at each end of the fleet . Eg mrs Dakota normally starts 8 mins before me , yesterday it was only 1min as my time had come in 1 min and her time had gone out 6. 😀😀
