Incredible number, all things considered, and seemingly bucking the trend.
We’ll be doing a survey of all entrants, but as we know, perception is everything, so why do you think the Class is having such a revival? https://www.yachtsandyachting.com/news/238541/UK-Europe-Nationals-at-the-WPNSA-preview Edited by Bootscooter - 15 Jun 21 at 8:32am |

Maybe because it is a dedicated lightweights singlehander? Affordable entry level if you can track down a secondhand boat. The two obvious lightweights alternatives are detuned versions of the optimal rigged boats? WPSNA is a top rate venue that is worth the journey? They have an energetic CA? We (Solos) shared an event there with them a few years back, it looked like they were having a great time.

It must be the CA: its always the CA!
I suspect it doesn't do any harm that its not a first choice as a youth class either. It seems to me that really strong youth classes tend to lose adult participation at major championships. Edited by JimC - 15 Jun 21 at 9:10am |

Perhaps because it’s a nice little boat, it has enough options to be able to tune the rig to the sailor so it’s not a plonk the mast in and go and let’s be honest there’s a lot of two man teams that couldnt sail together for such a long time I think you’ll see some great single handed entries this year.

51 Boats? That's great, really good to see so many girls racing.

While it does massively suit the slighter sailor, there’s a few of us racing (and doing well) at 80kg+👍🏽 |
