Hello to all.

I’ve recently seen a documentary about super yachts the other day...they are real monster things! I would love to get on one of those yachts once in my life - but more for a holiday if I can...hehe ... Have you ever been on one of those huge yacht cruises? In the documentary people where interviewed who have worked on such super yachts. And they reveal the craziest tasks they had to do in their job on such a yacht.

One of the owners, for example, wanted to watch an important game of his basketball team on television. But the yacht anchored near Honduras with poor satellite reception. But he also owned a small station that was broadcasting the game and so he paid to have the reception extended to the area where they were. Only that must have cost tens of thousands of dollars, I imagine!? And he still did not receive the game. The only picture that arrived was a photograph of his mother at the game haha well all these stories were pretty fun.

What was very impressive as well, were these huge large-format televisions they had on their yachts, as well as the entertainment system in general. One of these huge TVs was even foldable. I have never seen anything like it in my life. Have you ever seen it with your own eyes where? And what other experiences have you made on superyachts (by yourself or just watching TV / documentaries like I did ;-))

I am unfortunately not one of those who have the fortune to buy a yacht as big as a house...but I can live with that :D (actually I am at the very beginning and starting to learn about dinghy sailing). I have seen this super yachts but I was newer on one...so can't actually what is it like. Maybe one day I will have the opportunity...we're gonna see :) Never heard about a foldable TV...how should this work? Or was it a beamer on a foldable surface?

Hey aitchy, well, who knows? Maybe we’ll win the lottery? :D Just kidding…I just wanted to hear about your experiences! Just to see what else is there to find on superyachts, for example! :-) And also to hear about funny stories! Like the on that I mentioned above. :-) And yes, it’s a real TV, not a beamer. It’s probably the world’s largest TV!? That C-Seed TV was about 200 inches big, I think. It was enormous! What was really impressing, was that the TV "disappears" into the ground. That's why it is foldable...and you can store it in the ground, so you don’t even need a lot of space for that huge TV. I am sure that there are other impressive entertaining systems on such mega yachts which were not shown in the documentary that I saw. :-) I’m curious to know more about those! :-)

Ok, I think I understand now how they work. But is the surface of the TV a flexible LED surface that can fold to a certain degree and that's how they accomplish the folding of the TV? Sorry for the detailed questions, but I like new technologies and inventions :) I am sure, that such huge TVs will not fit on my Dinghy hahaha maybe I give it a try, just kidding :D People who have the fortune can have any entertainment system they want on a super yacht. But it's not just the amount of high-tech on the boat. It's about the design too. It should fit into the whole boat design.

Hi aitchy, thank you again for the answer.
Yes exactly, the TV is foldable and so the TV can be stowed away in a small space. That is what I saw it in the documentary. But actually it was really amazing that the quality of the picture is super sharp. So one should really go for quality with such a big screen. Because there are actually quite a lot of big TV sets around. But with this C-Seed model the quality was also outstanding. But honestly, if you already have such a mega yacht, you probably also want the best entertainment system available on the market. I believe that money is not a big issue for such people who do own such big yachts… ;-)
And yes, I agree with you that new technologies on a boat should somehow match to the design. But that's why there are architects and designers who specialise in such super yachts. There are also architects and designers who specialise in in luxury real estate or in the automotive industry for example. Let me put it this way...whoever works in such a market will certainly get to see a lot of interesting things ;-) I just have to be satisfied with documentation on TVs which is also fun to watch! :--D

Of course. Those engineers and designers for yachts and super yachts are surely very professional people with a lot of experience in their branch. And they should be good in it because people pay a lot of money for their work ;)
I checked out the youtube channel of this foldable TVs and now understand how they really work technically...I am impressed about the real dimension of it compared to the objects around the TV.

true… I guess the engineers and designers know exactly what they are doing. Not for nothing else are there such many technically sophisticated products on the market for yacht cruises such as those from C-Seed. When you look around for the best entertainment systems for superyacht cruises, then you also want to get the best and biggest device that is available on the market. I think super yacht owners can easily afford it if they want to. Who wouldn't like to have experiences with foldable televisions, where you almost feel like you are in a cinema. A cinema on a boat – wouldn’t that be a nice business idea? ;-)

I have never been on the big cruise ship (the big big ones with 1000ft or more), but i think a standard equipment on this big boats is also a cinema. Things change obviously if it is a private cinema on your own yacht or if you share it on a cruiser ship with others ;) Maybe one day, when I am old, I will have a trip on this big cruise ship, the classic ones from italy over greece to turkey :D

Hey aitchy, thanks again for your answer.
Yes, these huge cruise ships have a lot to offer...No wonder they are so popular. So if I could choose a trip, it would be to the Caribbean islands… ;-) Oh, this makes me start dreaming again right away, when I think of sun, beach and sea...how nice would that be right now? ;-) Anyways…thanks again for your experiences. I am amazed what you can find on super yachts by now! :D
